A. You should dress at your own personal comfort level. Most people are completely undressed but some prefer to leave on their panties or boxer shorts. It is up to you. The massage therapist will work around the remaining clothing the best they can.
Q. What do you recommend for someone getting their first massage?
A. It is recommended that you start with The Classic massage, better known as The Swedish.
Q. Can I get a massage if I am pregnant?
A.Yes. As long as you are out of your first trimester a massage is perfectly safe. We focus more on relaxation and do not concentrate on trigger points.
Q. Is the Deep Tissue Massage painful?
A. It can be intense if you are not accustomed to regular massages. However, the pain shouldn't last more than 48 hours.
Q. How long should I wait after an injury before getting a massage?
A. We recommend you wait at least 72 hours after sustaining an injury or until you have been seen by your physician.
Q. Is the Hot Stone Massage really hot?
A.It is a soothing heat that should never cause you any discomfort while enjoying your massage. The stones will never rest on your skin for a long period of time. If at anytime the heat becomes unbearable please let you therapist know.
Skin Care
Q. With the microdermabrasion, is there any down time?
A.There is no time with our system and protocol. You may experience some minor redness or tenderness for a day or two; however, you may proceed with your normal activities. For more detailed information about diamond-tip microdermabrasion, please click here.
Q. What is the difference between The Parisian Facial and The Oxygen Facial?
A.The Oxygen Facial is the same as The Parisian Facial with a combination of specialized serums and oxygen infused into the skin at the conclusion of the facial. The treatment hydrates skin immediately, making the face appear smoother and plumper.
Q. I have a few blemishes and minor break-outs, should I receive The Restorer Acne Facial?
A.The Restorer treatment is for clients who have active acne with a substantial amount of blemishes and need an aggressive approach to clarify the skin. Most of our facial treatments last one hour and can be modified to suit the clients needs.
Waxing
Q. How long does my hair need to be before I can get waxed?
A. Hair should be at least a quarter of an inch before waxing.
Q. How often should I wait before waxing appointments?
A. It depends on your hair growth. On average, most people return every 3-5 weeks.
Q. Can I use a numbing cream before I wax?
A. Yes, although results vary from client to client, products with the ingredient Benzocain (such as Orajel) can provide some relief. Simply apply the cream/gel to skin 30-45 minutes before waxing.
Q. Do we wax men?
A. Well Yes and NO. Some waxing is resereved for our female clients, such as Mr. Bigglesworth, Bikini area, or bottoms up wax. We thank you for your understanding.
Spray Tanning
Q. What should I do in preparation for my spray tan?
A. Make sure to shower, shave and exfoliate your entire body the night before. This will remove dead skin cells which will in turn promote a more even coverage and lengthen the duration of your tan. Do not apply moisturizer before your spray tanning session. Lotions can act as a barrier and prevent the tanning solution from absorbing into the skin.
It is best to wear loose fitting clothing just in case the solution happens to rub off onto your clothes. If this happens, it should wash out of most fabrics; except for nylon materials. It takes between 4-8 hours for the formula to set and in this time you should not shower, go out in the rain or do any activity that will make you sweat.
Q. Do I wear a swim suit or am I completely nude when getting sprayed?
A. You can wear as little or as much as you like. If you do not feel comfortable getting sprayed in the buff, feel free to bring a swim suit or leave on your bra and underwear. We also sell disposable underwear for $1.00.
-
Men are required to wear some type of underwear, unless it has been discussed with the technician prior to the service and the technician and client are in complete agreement about clothing being optional.
Q. How long will my spray tan last?
A. Your spray tan should last an average of 5-7 days, depending on your skin type, how often you exfoliate and how often you moisturize. Hydrating your skin is essential in preserving the life of your tan.
Q. How long does it take to get sprayed?
A. You will be in and out in less than 15 minutes.
Q. Can I get a spray tan if I am pregnant?
A. Yes. There are no harmful side effects to getting a spray tan.
Nails
Q. Do you use Acrylic or Gel?
A.Neither. We use a glaze system, which is lighter and thinner. It is also safer for natural nails.
Q. Can I get a fill-in using your system if I have a different system already on?
A. No. We can't guarantee the system we use will bond with the system you have.
Q. How often do I need a fill-in?
A. Every two weeks, because you will begin to see regrowth and lifting will begin, which could result in moisture under the nail causing mold to grow.
Teeth Whitening
Q. Who can undergo Beyond WhiteSpa Select Treatment?
A.Our teeth whitening treatment produces dramatic whitening results for anyone who wants to whiten his or her teeth. This includes people with teeth that have been stained by smoking or by substances such as coffee or tea. It also whitens teeth stained by tetracycline, speckled by fluoride or hereditary discoloration. Pregnant or lactating women or clients under 16 years of age should not receive the treatment.
Q. Is it safe?
A. Yes, we use a gentle, over-the-counter strength peroxide-based whitening gel combined with a tailored light source that removes all harmful UV light and heat before delivering a concentrated beam of light to accelerate the whitening process.
Q. How long does the treatment take?
A. One hour.
Q. Will it whiten my existing crowns or veneers?
A. Whitening treatments can only whiten natural teeth and cannot change the color of porcelain crowns, veneers or fillings.
Q. How white will my teeth be after treatment?
A. Whitening results can vary by individual depending on the severity and nature of your stains. Your treatment will be tailored to produce the best whitening results possible.
Q. How long will the whitening results last?
A.This varies from person to person and depends on your diet and lifestyle, but the effects usually last for about two years. Periodic touch-up treatments are recommended for clients who consume coffee or other staining foods and drinks frequently or for those who use tobacco products.
